Bury family firm Lex Business Equipment earns highly commendations in the technology category of the Made in Bury Business Awards 2014 (MIBBA). The ceremony took place in a glamorous black-tie event held in Bury.

The annual event, in short, includes over 300 local business professional attendees. These also include the mayor of Bury, plus the Leader of Bury Council, Mike Connolly. Connolly says as follows of this uniquely Bury business awards celebration.

“This is now the biggest business awards ceremony of any metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester. And a great showcase for the phenomenal wealth of talent and business acumen we have in our borough.”

The achievement comes one year after the firm, established over three decades ago came second place in the awards last year for the category ‘family business of the year.’ Sam Elphick (above), son of managing director Wayne Elphick, accepts the award alongside colleague Gemma Enright. Sam says as follows.

“It was a terrific evening, and I am absolutely thrilled to receive the coveted ‘highly commended’ award in technology. Especially after what was such a tough judging process against some very worthy businesses. I would like to thank all of our staff and customers whom have supported us in business for almost thirty-five years”.

The award comes just two months after Lex announced record revenues for the financial year-end to September 2014.
