Poster Content Summary
1. Assess the Scene & Responsiveness
Ensure the area is safe. Gently shake the person and shout to check for a response.
2. Call for Help
Dial emergency services and request a defibrillator (AED) immediately, early action is vital.
3. Airway & Breathing Check
Look, listen, and feel for normal breathing for no longer than 10 seconds. Treat irregular gasping (agonal breaths) as a warning to act now.
4. Chest Compressions
Place hands in the centre of the chest. Compress 5-6 cm deep at a rate of 100-120 per minute. Let the chest fully recoil between compressions.
5. Rescue Breaths (If Trained)
After every 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths: tilt the head, pinch the nose, seal the mouth, and deliver each breath over 1 second, look for chest rise.
6. Continue with 30:2 or Hands-Only CPR
Repeat the cycle until emergency help arrives or you are too tired to continue. Hands-only CPR is recommended if untrained.
7. AED Use: Safety and Timing
Power on the AED, attach pads as shown, and follow voice prompts. Continue CPR when advised, minimise interruptions.
Key Benefits of the CPR Poster
