We are pleased to announce that from 1st December 2021, Lex will begin a tree planting initiative to help reduce both our and our clients’ carbon footprint.
A tree planted for every print device sold
Lex will plant one tree for each print/copy device sold, when our clients take delivery of their amazing new device they will have peace of mind that they are also assisting the global effort to reduce carbon emissions. We also continue to offer our device upcycling scheme, whereby old print devices will be refurbished in our workshop to become pre-loved devices. Those printers or photocopiers will then be donated to local charities, churches, youth clubs and other not-for-profit organisations.
Planting just one tree can absorb up to 48 pounds of CO2 per year, meaning that over the lifespan of one tree it will absorb around 1 ton of carbon dioxide.
Our partnership with Ecologi
Ecologi will plant the trees on our behalf – not just in the UK but around the world. From 1st December we will plant the trees once every 6 months and look forward to understanding where in the globe the trees are being planted. Not only do Ecologi support the planting of the trees but they also create employment and assist local communities by awarding tree planting roles in those communities.
Benefits of tree planting
Trees give off oxygen that we need to breathe. They reduce the amount of stormwater runoff which reduces erosion and pollution in our waterways and may reduce the effects of flooding. Many species of wildlife depend on trees for their habitat. Trees provide food, protection and homes for many birds and mammals – source.
